Sixteen Candles, Eighteen Goals

Sophomore Jack Ortlieb celebrated his 16th in style with a big day on offense
On his sixteenth birthday, Jack Ortlieb (So./Attack) blew out more than the candles on his cake.  The sophomore led all scorers with five goals and three assists as the Sea Kings defeated visiting Northwood 18-5. The win improves CDM's record to 9-1 and 6-0 in Pacific Coast League play.

Several other Kings came to the party, as Hunter Molnar (Jr./Attack) added four goals, Michael Keasey (Jr./Midfield) three goals, and Casey Mix (So./Attack) chipped in 2 goals and three assists. Parker Ewles (Sr./Midfield) produced a goal and an assist, while Connor Canale (Jr./Midfield), Chris Von Der Ahe (So./Midfield) and Todd Kitzens (So./Attack) had a goal each.

After yesterday's big win over Monte Vista (Danville, CA), the Kings showed signs of fatigue early in the game. After a slow start, the defense settled down late in the second quarter and went on to hold Northwood scoreless for the last two and a half quarters of the game.

CDM travels to Northwood tomorrow afternoon for another Pacific Coast League contest. Game time is at 4:00 PM.
