CDM wins 2021 season opener!

Junior attackman Ty Caffarelli scored 7 goals in CDM's first game of 2021, an 18-8 win
It had been nearly 375 days since the Sea Kings had played a lacrosse game. On Saturday, March 20, 2021, Ty Caffarelli (Monmouth) provided the fireworks to celebrate CDM's return to the field. The junior attackman scored 7 goals and recorded an assist to lead the host Sea Kings (1-0) to an 18-8 win over the visiting Friars from Servite (0-2).

"This was such a memorable day in CDM lacrosse history," commented Sea King head coach G.W. Mix. "To see the joy on these kids faces, knowing that they were finally back playing again with their friends in this incredible new facility. What a really special day. I am so humbled to have been a part of it."

Junior midfielder Lucas Newton (Villanova) added three goals and an assist, while senior attackman Shawn Frome tallied two goals and two assists. Hunter Eddy, Jake Fuentes, Logan Ip (Notre Dame), Sam Thomson and Scott Westrick each had a goal. Thompson also had two assists, while Ip had one.

CDM won 21 of 29 faceoffs (.724) and Wyatt Rieden recorded 7 saves. 

Win the win, Mix (12th season) improves his overall record at CDM to 176-32 (.846) and 11-1 in season openers.

Next up for the Sea Kings is a road game at Tesoro High School on Tuesday, March 30.
Varsity game begins at 5:30 PM, JV at 7:00 PM.
