Dalton named 2011 US Lacrosse All-American
Senior defenseman Donald Dalton becomes CDM's third US Lacrosse All-American
US Lacrosse announced its 2011 Boys Lacrosse All-American selections and CDM's senior defenseman Donald Dalton was one of six players in Orange County to receive the highest level of recognition in high school lacrosse. Dalton becomes just the third player in Sea King history to be chosen to a US Lacrosse All-American team.
"Over the past several years, Donald has developed into a very dominant defender," said Dalton's head coach G.W. Mix. "He has the ability to take over a high school lacrosse game, something we have seen many times over the past few seasons. To be recognized by area coaches as one of the best in the game is a terrific honor and a credit to how hard he has worked and how effectively he plays."
Dalton becomes just the third CDM lacrosse player to be named All-American. Noah Molnar (Midfield / '09 / Lehigh University) was chosen in 2008 and 2009. Ryan Mix (Attack / '10 / University of Notre Dame) was selected in 2009 and 2010. In 2010, Mix became the first player in Orange County history to be named both All-American and Academic All-American.
In addition to his selection as a US Lacrosse All-American, Dalton was named the 2011 Pacific Coast League Player of the Year and a First Team All-County (Orange County) selection. He was also invited by the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce to attend its prestigious Commodore's Breakfast on June 1st, honoring the top 30 senior student-athletes at Corona del Mar and Newport Harbor High Schools.
